Super Villain Dad is one of those obscure books that when you read you're somewhat surprised because it's a hidden pearl, not that i'm saying that it's a masterpiece but it's a good light read, it's also the first book of the series Cape High that features to this date, six books.
Zoe the heroine and Sunny her brother live in a foster home since they got in the system two years ago when their mother disappeared, things are not nice, but they get worse when they start to develop powers that they can't control, they alternatives to that situation are going to the Hall, the superhero organization on their city, that probably won't even hear them because a lot of other kids go claiming that they have powers when they really got none, or finding their dad a Super Villain in prison, that they found by coincidence because the obvious inherited appearance.
The books goes as a teen supervillain get interested in them, wanting to form a Supervillain group, and more interested on Zoe the heroine, i have to say that all books in this series have a somewhat a romantic side plot, but they are not too heavy and don't take the fun off the books.
After some development the books give you a "enemie" and a battle, but the villains are still on the background, but i have to warn in all the series most of the plots ends peacefully, so it's really a light read. The first Arc goes for four books since the books are not that big.
The book is not bad written but the plot is more here for the character development, it's easy to see that's the intention of the author since every book the POV changes to a new character.
So if you want a non committal light read with super heroes or super powers that's the book for you.
